August is really not my favorite time to start school. I sure wish it started after Labor Day.
But, despite the heat and humidity , I still wanted to capture some unique back-to-school images.
So I pulled together this styled-shoot for my daughter and a couple of her schoolmates.
We had an eventful evening (long story)…it sure was a scorcher…but we were able to create a few sweet shots to share.
We had quite a cast of characters. First up…our lively little cowgirl, who couldn’t help but steal the show.
We’ll call her “Sunshine Sally.”
She was eager to “round-up” her two little indians with style!
Next, was our pretty little indian girl, who played the solemn part perfectly.
Smiles were hard to come by in the old indian days, you know!
We will call her “Laughs-in-Water.”
We also had our curious little indian girl.
She was a bit hard to round-up and her smile was fleeting, but she added an authentic indian look.
We’ll call her “Blooms-like-Flower.”
I almost forgot our incredible indian-dog mascot, “Dances-with-Ginger”.
She made for a trusted furry and feathered companion for her round-up friends.
Gathered round the campfire, the three crafty characters celebrated their friendships in typical indian peace-pipe tradition.
Of course, the “no smoking” rule was enforced! ha!
Afterward, they celebrated with indian-style music and dance…sort of!
And, Sunshine Sally rounded up her indian friends with a hoop and a howler!
And, we saved the best for last, which made for much happier indians…the refreshing water walk!
The cool water was a relief from the heat.
Best of all, we followed our celebration with a trip to Cool Swirl!
Good memories were made! It was a great way to commemorate the beginning of school!
I would love to know you were here!
