In the beginning…
In the fall of 2010, I was fortunate to secure a spot at the first “I Heart Faces” Dream Big Workshop in Dallas, Texas.
I had a blast! I learned a great deal and met some of the most fabulous photographers who remain faithful friends and encouragers today.
Let me give a big shout out for the I Heart Faces gals! To visit their awesome site, go to www.iheartfaces.com.
The following images are just a bit of the results of my efforts to capture the delightful faces that lit up the amazingly-styled birthday party (styled by Amy Locurto of Living Locurto), during the workshop. After studying photography in my spare time for nearly two years now, I am finally feeling comfortable revealing these images. Long story short, I have learned a great deal via a variety of photography resources, but still have much more to learn!
And, just so you’ll know, I really do “heart faces,” …from doodling as a child, to creating chalk and pencil portraits as a teen, to the pen and ink sketches I’ve created as an adult…I have always longed to capture the emotions reflected in the faces in the world around me.
