True Beauty and Living Original
I am reposting the Sadie Robertson video in case anyone else is like me and lives in a hole ;).
It certainly resonates with me and most people I know.
As Sadie mentions, jealousy, comparison, and worry “is a cancer to our bones.”
Sadie is 18, so I am sure that many high school seniors can relate as well.
Hope this video helps someone else to know that they are not alone in their struggles.
In this video, Sadie also says that her new mantra is “Live Original.”
This has made me rethink my approach to my senior photo shoots. I want restate my message to seniors.
I want my seniors to feel free to be themselves. I want them to remember that those magazine covers have been retouched.
There is certainly nothing wrong with preparing yourself to look your best for your photo shoot.
In fact, I highly recommend preparation! The camera picks up all the details (ie: lint all over your black dress).
There is nothing wrong with looking around for ideas. Or wanting to create a mood or concept that YOU love.
But our ultimate goal is to make pretty pictures and precious memories for you and your family to cherish.
After all, nothing is truly original. Except you! The way you move and pose and smile is totally original.
And I want us to embrace that thought (and Sadie’s message).
Be Free to Be Yourself.
